Amaryllis anyone?

Does anyone have experience with growing Amaryllis from seeds? I was at my local bank, and they had one that was bursting seed pods. The teller gave me the seeds, and now I want to grow them. I was a bit scared when a brief search online indicated it could take YEARS.

Yes, 3 to 5 years is what I understand.

I love them, but we grow them from bulbs. They are spectacular!!

Planted these Amaryllis seeds on Feb 2nd 2025

2-month update. One of the 6 grew. I had a 2nd one, but I dropped the pot and lost it. Only 3-5 more years to go. lol

Slow growing little dudes huh? Is it normal that they're growing that slow?

I'm not sure. From what I'm told, they take around 3-5 years to grow from seed. I'm thinking it'll be a slow grow.
