Show us your Scarecrow

No she's not. She has a habit of holding her arms behind her. She is quite shy, and kneels down a lot to help me with the weeding.
I'll show you MY scarecrow in a minute....... he is getting ready to go out there - watch this space

That , that, that THING is just totally HIDEOUS !!
😱😱😱
Closely resembles this guy: 👺

Nevermind scaring the birds, you'll be scaring the adults and children !! 😩

Oh dear, did you recognise him perhaps Annie? Does he remind you of someone ? He IS a professional crow scarer, and he volunteers for the job. he is most apt at getting rid of pests as well as crows and unwanted campers. If he gets too ''up his own jumper'' I will put a bag over his head for a while. He makes a very good turner of manure too as it 'appens, and he's very very knowledgeable 😊

Oh I know !! Extremely full of knowledge !! Just ask, he'll tell ya!! 😄

Don't you people in the USA have scarecrows then?
I haven't made one yet. None of my fruit trees, save the Persimmon and fig, have given me fruit yet. Also, my Crows are just an "attempted murder", (only three of them) not really enough of them to worry about, I just haven't gotten around to it. 😄 I guess I must get one going soon though.

Looks a bit like me on a good day, Tetters.
My main bird problem is pigeons on the greens, don't need a scarecrow for them, I just throw a bit of wire or two down round them and the pigeons go "It's a trap, it's a trap, don't go near it.".
Shh! don't let Zigs hear you say that. He has names for all his pigeon mates, and even talks to them, and calls some of them by name  He gets quite concerned if he thinks they get lonely. He has one pet one called Derek - I told him he was a girl, but she still gets called Derek. We see the scarecrows more as bird buddies - you know, something to keep the birds entertained.

Because my father and brother were both biology teachers we used to get odd animals brought to us. We had a pigeon once from my brother's friend who had a holiday job in the park, it kept going in the park keeper's shed. It wouldn't leave the house, and if you threw it out the window it would fly back and walk up and down the window sill until it was let in.

Many moons ago I kept fantails, and my male bird(suitably called Cocky) was extremely cheeky. When I went shopping he would fly down the hill to meet me as I returned home and sit on the bonnet of the car until we got there. He would follow me - hopping down some steps from the pathway and wait on the doorstep while I unlocked the door. Then he would come into the kitchen and get up on the table there, to help sort the shopping out. I had to tell him to get his beak out of the bag and put him back outside. Then he'd somehow perch on the window sill and start tapping the glass quite angrily until I took him his shopping day treat! At the time I was nicknamed ''the pigeon lady'' by the locals, who would bring injured birds for my help from time to time.
