It's always the thought "I might have a wonderful new type", but growers looking for them professionally grow a row right across a field on the off chance there will be one different, but you never know, Mr Cox had an apple seed grow in his garden.

Probably, we all have dreams of growing something new, and it does happen, but not often. Professional bulb growers grow seedlings on by the acre, then in a year or two walk the rows hoping to spot something, but mostly they just get ploughed in. I planted a few about Christmas to see if the seed I had saved was viable, they have been in the propagator on my bedroom windowsil, but they don't look much better. Planted some more the other day, now is much more the time for the first ones.
