Tree bark with lichen that MOVES !!

I thought it was a piece of bark that was lodged in a corner of the house. Nope. I touched it to knock it off and Jumped a foot !!
He moved and stuck out a redish horn out the top of his noodle !! Then slowly withdrew the horn. What do you think he is and will be when he morphs into another creature?

He's still there and I hope he's not some bug that is going to attack all my good bugs once he pupates.

He's changed @Tetters maybe you know what this is and do you think it pupated because it looks like it's screaming now.

I guess he thought my brown trim was a tree. He's as conspicuous as a wart on a witches nose !!
