Hey everyone,
As we start gearing up for the 2026 season, I wanted to encourage everyone, whether you have a 5-acre homestead or a few pots on a balcony, to start a garden journal right here in this forum.
Don't worry about it being all perfect and professional. We're all here to learn from each other. Post your plans, your seed hauls, and your "oops" moments along with your wins.
Can't wait to see what y'all are growing this year!
Happy Growing!
As we start gearing up for the 2026 season, I wanted to encourage everyone, whether you have a 5-acre homestead or a few pots on a balcony, to start a garden journal right here in this forum.
Why start a journal?
- Track your progress: It's easy to forget exactly when you planted those peppers or when the first frost hit.
- Get advice: If you run into a bug, or a nutrient issue, having your history right here makes it easier for others to help.
- Show off that harvest: We want to see the "after" photos once all your hard work pays off!
- Look back next year: Next year if you encounter a similar situation, and can't remember what you did, you can easily look back at your journal and figure it out.
How to do it:
Just start a new thread in the Garden Showcase section. A generic title would work, something like "Mike's 2026 North Texas Garden", which also makes it easy for folks to know where I'm growing.Don't worry about it being all perfect and professional. We're all here to learn from each other. Post your plans, your seed hauls, and your "oops" moments along with your wins.
Can't wait to see what y'all are growing this year!
