Really Should Read Instructions On Seed

Got a Chart on planting seed and I was thinking most surface Sow.

Then I finally read more and most need covering.

I almost never read the chart. I go by seed size. Works for me!

I would have automatically assumed most seeds need to be covered. I didn't realize there were many seeds that would sprout just by sprinkling them along the ground.

Take carrot seed for example. Packages say up to 1/2-inch depth (1.2cm). Way too deep for me for my garden. I just throw them out there and push them down for ground contact, water, and keep 'em watered until germination. 1/2 inch most would not germinate.

Well it had surface sow and then starts for the next ones down I took it as surface sow until I went to the bottom and found what the stars were for.

But all good.

Did take advice from here on my Petunias and they are looking good.
