OK.
So since my TAVI heart surgery, forgive me if I have previously mentioned any of this. Immediately after the new valve being fitted I suffered a heart attack and stroke. Then a couple of days later I had four stents inserted into the coronary arteries. All this done whilst being conscious. Then home. Couple of weeks later a phone call from St. Thomas's. Advice, go straight to A&E I had lots of fluid around the heart. Treatment was good, food disgusting, I lost two stone in ten days. Home again with a list of tablets to take. Suddenly I experienced painful paralysis kind of symptoms to my arms and legs, I couldn't walk for several days. Amanda, my daughter checked the drugs for side effects. Atorvastatin was the cause. I had been prescribed 80mg a day, one pharmacist said I should have been started on a very low dose, the other pharmacist said it shouldn't be given to over 70's. I no longer take this drug however I have been in pain due to osteo-arthritis in my knees. Another problem since the Tavi...I can't get warm, so the garden has been out of bounds. Never mind. I'm alright.
Oh mike, what a palava! Thank goodness you have your daughter. I know just how hellish it is in the hospitals having had some of the same! I soon refused statins too - they are lethal. I will write again in the morning by private (direct) message. Jackie
Advice when entering institutions, Mike, tell them you are vegetarian, the vege meals are produced in much smaller quantities and are much better as a consequence.
