I have much success with marigolds as pollinators as well. Bees and butterflies abound! I can't find a later photo when they were in full bloom and full of bees.
I like both. This year we're going full French, with the exception of the African ones that self-seed. I neglected to remove a single dead marigold from the garden this year. I fully expect a wall of marigolds this year.
I picked up some french marigolds to scatter throughout the garden too. I'm hoping they'll attract a lot of bees, but also help keep away some of the pesky insects.
