"The Gardener holds a unique and enviable position in this land of work and taxation. Where is the man who, like he, can raise his own celery every year, let alone be master of the mint?

....though he dresses plain and his only decoration is bachelor's buttons, he is always recognised, and meets with more boughs than a minister of state."

From a Victorian head gardener's album

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the next best time is now - Old Welsh Proverb
Fruit trees maybe.
I get acorns germinating in my beds from the oak at the bottom of the garden and drop them into waste land, corners and hedgerows, most probably won't make it, any that do should mature in my children's children's children's lifetime, if humans are still around.

I've got a few Oak saplings and 3 Scot's pine's in pots 🙂 Not got the time at the moment but later I'll do a screen shot from Google Street view of the Horse Chestnut I planted with my Son when he was little 🙂

You've got it Annie 😎
I vaguely remember a song with "or on a crowded avenue" but that was a song I heard in my teens. I wanna say "I only have eyes for you". (logically rhymes with avenue). Probably not it and I don't remember who sung it.

Art Garfunkel did a version of it in 1976 but there was a swing version that was around in the 1950s that I can't find and the original was from the 1930's so even older than Tetters 😬
Yeah, but only just!
OMG Don't take me so literally It was a joke:cool:
