Mulched my Garlic with Straw it is growing up through the Straw.

Is it too early to uncover it?

Should I top my Onions one more time to keep them from being Leggy? When should I plant them?

I was going to start Cabbage inside and was going to start them March 12. Should I wait or start them now?

Should I uncover Asparagus?

I'm in Zone 6b.

Onions and garlic are quite hardy but there's nothing wrong with leaving the mulch on if they've grown up through it. It'll save weeding and hold the water in the soil, stop it drying out too quick. I used to mulch my garlic with spent mushroom compost (as I worked on a mushroom farm and it was the one thing we had a lot of 😁) The Badgers used to come and dig it all up to find worms under it 🙄

I've never topped my Onions, each stalk ends up being taken back into the bulb to form a layer so I'd leave as much green on the top as you can 🙂

I'd start the cabbage now.

Not sure about the Asparagus 😬

I'm thinking leave the mulch on Asparagus. I read somewhere to let it grow up through the mulch and I've had a problem with weeds. Onions I've topped them 3X already. I was told not to let them get over 5 inches tall.
