It can always be a little daunting, or confusing, when you're new to a community, and especially if you're new to forums in general. Where do I start? What goes where? So, I thought I'd take a minute to write a little "how-to", which is mostly specific to this site but could help with other sites as well.

If you're new here, the first thing I'd recommend is that you post an introduction thread. Let us know a little bit about yourself, and what kinds of things you like to grow in your garden.

If you're new to gardening, then I'm sure you probably have some questions. If it's a generic question about gardening, in general, simply post a thread in our ask the experts forum. To post a thread in any given forum, just go to the forum and there should be a "Post thread" button at the top of the page.

If you have a specific question, say about a specific vegetable, or other kind of edible, we have a few different sections you can post in. We have different sections for vegetable gardening, herb gardens, fruits and berries, and grains, nuts, and seeds.

We also have sections for gardening plants and flowers, taking care of your lawn, and growing trees.

There are a lot of other sections, too, but if you're new you're probably looking for one of these to start. If not, you can see a list of all the sections we have on our forum home page. We also have a section called "the patio" if you have a topic that doesn't fit into any other category.

Last, but not least, if you're looking for more information about specific garden items, check out our garden database. While it's still new, at the time of this post, it's constantly being added to and will, hopefully, become a very comprehensive collection of information about all different varieties of garden vegetables, flowers, and other items.

Regardless of how you choose to start your journey within our community, I just want to be one of the first to say welcome to the Garden Forum! I'm glad you've chosen this site, and I look forward to seeing, or reading about, how your garden is coming along.

If you have any questions, please feel free to DM me any time and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Again, thank you for stopping by and I hope to see you stick around!
